I spent some time this weekend to find out reasons why some people decide not to use CodeTwo Public Folders – a program that enhances teamwork and everyday productivity by letting users synchronize Outlook folders in real time between many computers. Let's don't deceive ourselves! Despite all the hard work CodeTwo has been putting into developing this program, it cannot satisfy everyone on Earth. Here is the list of 8 reasons not to use CodeTwo Public Folders.
8. Technophobia
If you suffer from technophobia and don’t like computers or any electronic devices and love to spend your time amidst the trees in the jungle, you might not like CodeTwo Public Folders as it is designed for computers and uses complicated algorithms to let its users share Outlook folders between many computers with just one click.
7. Selfishness
CodeTwo Public Folders is meant to do what we were taught to do when we were young – to share things with others. Remember how difficult it was to share your chocolate bar with your younger brother? Huh! Let alone sharing it also with your older sister who always got what she wanted. If you still feel biased about sharing, CodeTwo Public Folders is not for you as well.
6. Sergeant Thomas Highway's followers
If you are like Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge and want your workers/soliders to magically foresee your timetable and the color of a T-Shirt you will be wearing tomorrow, you might not like CodeTwo Public Folders. This program lets you workers (e.g. your secretary or personal assistant) view end edit selected appointments in your calendar to remotely plan your agenda for the upcoming days or even years.
5. Pass the ball, pass the ball… Oh c’mon! Pass the bloody ball!!!
If you are one of those one-man-army guys who never pass the ball and want to get all points for themselves, you might not be keen on using CodeTwo Public Folders. This software facilitates teamwork in small and medium companies by letting all Outlook users share and manage Outlook tasks between their computers. By doing so, you can remotely plan entire projects, assign tasks and control their progress – just like in Exchange Server.
4. On Cloud nine with WiFi
If you like Cloud solutions and don’t have to visit a sleep clinic every weekend because you don’t spent entire nights on thinking what is happening with your private and confidential data, CodeTwo Public Folders might turn you off as it stores your data locally and helps prevent unauthorized access, loss or theft. Feeling too safe might be overwhelming for some people, eh?
3. Money does grow on trees
If you’ve never said Money doesn’t grow on trees because you are rolling in it, CodeTwo Public Folders will probably turn out to be too cheap for you. If you used to lend your pocket money to Rockefeller, you might go for costly solutions requiring expensive maintenance (think: Exchange Server). CodeTwo Public Folders is just a cost-effective Exchange alternative which requires no configuration, no administration and costs just a fraction of Exchange Server’s price.
2. Tech support is too nice
If you don’t like nice and helpful people, you might not like CodeTwo’s Technical Support. They always respond to your questions in 24-hours – some people might think it’s too quick, isn’t it?
1. Gravity / Simplicity rides everything
If you believe that everything which is simple is a part of the global conspiracy program, CodeTwo Public Folders might not suit your needs. The application is amazingly easy to use. To tell you the truth, it is so simple and seamlessly integrated with Outlook that you don’t seem to realize you are using it.
All in all, it is up to you what you become and what you use. CodeTwo Public Folders can be good for ones and bad for others. Which group do you belong to?
