When you have an extensive correspondence with various people, it is sometimes hard to track the ongoing conversations. When a lot of new e-mails arrive, a lot of replies and forwards wait for you to read, you can edit the title of the messages so you get a better view on the current progress in the conversation or correspondence. Unfortunately, when you do that in new Outlook 2010, the title will be changed (in this example "Edited subject line") but only inside the message. On the list, it will still remain unchanged (in this example "Microsoft Outlook") as if nothing happened to it (Fig. 1).

The problem occurs when your messages are arranged in the conversation groups. However, you can change the options and the title will be displayed properly.
In Microsoft Outlook:
1. Right click on the message header,
2. Choose Conversations,
3. Uncheck Show messages in conversations (Fig. 2).

Now, after you change the title in the message, it will be properly displayed both in the message and on the list of your messages (Fig. 3).
