Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting

If you have a message in your Outlook that got stuck in Outbox, the problem usually stems from an antivirus add-in scanning outgoing e-mails. The scanning of outgoing and incoming messages is unnecessary, since in many cases it ends up with your messages being corrupted. Even if you try to open an infected message, your antivirus will still pick it up and alarm you.

If a message is still being sent even after antivirus scanning is disabled, and it is not visible in Sent Items folder, it can be deleted from data store applying the following method:

- Download and start MFCMAPI. For MS Outlook 2007 and earlier versions, you can use a 32-bit version, for MS Outlook 2010 it is possible to choose between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions, depending on your Outlook.

- In Session menu, choose Logon and Display Store Table.

 - Next, select an e-mail account, go to MDB menu and choose Open Store.

 - Then, expand Root Container tree - the name of this tree may be different for different users.

 - Next thing to do is locating and expanding the tree representing your Outlook personal tree structure.

 - Now, right-click Sent Items and choose Open Contents Table. The Sent Items folder's content will be displayed.

 - In the newly opened window right-click the message that got stuck, then choose Abort Submit. Right-click the item again and choose Delete message.

The last part of this procedure can be used for removing other conflicting messages.

Thanks very much for the help.
The MFCMAPI that I downloaded looked different from the screen shots shown above.
I got stuck on the last step because I was unable to figure out from the Sent Items, which items were stuck.
I will try again and shall update my progress.
