Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting

In this article, I will describe how to access some hidden options in Microsoft Outlook 2007.

Sometimes, if I want to access an option in Outlook 2007 that is not displayed on the main toolbar. I will describe how to add these hidden options to the toolbar. The option I need to access frequently and therefore need on the toolbar is Mark to download message(s). It is an important option for users who download only the headers of the messages.

Open Microsoft Outlook. Then, go to Tools, Customize (Fig. 1.).

In the Commands tab, choose Standard from the list of Categories (Fig. 2.).

Find the Mark to download message(s) option (Fig. 3.).

From this dialog box you can drag and drop the command to the toolbar of your Microsoft Outlook. Only if you keep the Customize option dialog box open, will you be able to change the attributes of the toolbar icon by right-clicking on it. The following menu will open (Fig. 4.).

If you close Customize window you can hover your mouse over a newly added icon to check what keyboard shortcut it is associated with (Fig. 5.).

You can perform this operation with every command that is built into Microsoft Outlook 2007.
