A lot of Facebook page admins find Get started tab annoying and want to remove it. Get started appears only on new Facebook pages. This tab is added there automatically to encourage users to post status updates on their Wall, and to promote their pages in the Internet with the Like box (fig.1).

If you want to remove Get Started from your Facebook page, you have to come to terms with the thing that it cannot be removed... But! Rest assured. Only you, as a page admin, can see this tab, whereas other users can't. Sooner or later the tab will go away. Don't worry.

Hi Leslie, As I wrote, these get started tabs are only visible for admins - not for any other Facebook users. As far as deleting your page is concerned, take a look at this http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=15197&tq

OK.
How long before the Getting Started tab goes away all by itself?
I find it highly annoying.

You have to run an ad on Facebook for it to go away.

Why would you write an article that doesn't answer the question in the title? Except to piss everyone off.

I agree with Chris. What a pointless waste of keystrokes. You could've posted a blank entry titled, "You can't remove the 'Get Started' tab from a Facebook page" and saved me the trouble of clicking on it.

I published my face book page and "get started" and administrator appeared on the "published" page even though I had set up all my wall and info correctly. So I "unpublished" the page using my edit setting and, the page it still appears when you enter name in face book search when I have logged out of my computer .Please help 1) How do I publish so that information page or wall only is visible and not "get started page"....looks very unprofessional and with administrators name etc!!!! 2) How do I remove my page from "published" with get started and administrator visible. I have tried the edit setting tick in my profile already Thanks
