Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting

It's a typical problem hundreds of Outlook users come across every day: I have two computers with Outlook and I want to have them synchronized all the time so that my calendar and contacts are up-to-date to let me stay on top of everything.

Microsoft Outlook, however, cannot natively share its folders with different machines / users unless you extend its capabilities by implementing Exchange Server in your organization, or use weird almost-hack-like tricks with Google accounts and calendars. As a result you end up investing a fortune for Exchange Server and its administration, or you keep your data in the cloud without real-time synchronization, and have to live with a feeling that your files are far away and won't be accessible if a Godzilla or hurricane eat or hit your internet connection.

Fortunately, you can resort to using a third-party tool to sync Outlook between your machines. Most of available Outlook add-ins for syncing Outlook folders are paid and the prices turn people off. To top it all, usually those apps are exceedingly difficult to use and hardly anyone can learn them without the help of technical support. CodeTwo Outlook Sync lets you synchronize Microsoft Outlook calendar and contacts between two computers absolutely for free and without any time limits. It is amazingly easy to use, so you can start using it right after the installation. Take a look at the video below to see what I mean.

CodeTwo Outlook Sync can be upgraded to a full version which allows syncing all Microsoft Outlook folders between two machines in your network. So you can use it not only to share calendars and contacts but you can sync Outlook tasks, email, documents, notes, journal and literally anything that you have in Outlook's personal folders. The program can be used to:

  • Sync Outlook between two machines in a local network. For instance, between your two desktops or laptops, or between desktop and laptop. There are no limits as far as the operating system or Outlook version is concerned. You can sync Outlook between your two PCs without any problems still having a mixed Windows and Outlook environment.
  • Share Outlook folders with your business partner. Your group work is faster and easier when you have your Outlook calendar, contacts tasks and email synchronized across your machines.
  • Backup Outlook to another computer. With CodeTwo Outlook Sync you can also send all Outlook files to another PC in order to keep them safe.
  • Transfer the entire PST file to a new computer. If you've just bought a new PC and you need to move all your Outlook files to it from your old, dusty machine, you can do it with one click using CodeTwo Outlook Sync.
  • Just to sync Outlook between you and your wife / husband / girlfriend / boyfriend / cat or dog if you have no secrets and need to stay organized.

CodeTwo Outlook Sync is a new tool but already seems to be second to none as far as Outlook synchronization between two PCs is concerned. It's probably the only Outlook-to-Outlook synchronizer that is so fast, reliable and easy to use. Why not give it a go then?

would you know why after the computers were synced for the first time, all of the items duplicated in the Calendar. In other words it doubled each entry in outlook calendar.

Hi Mauricio,

Which sync method did you select when configuring the program?

If you kept data from both PCs and already had the same entries in both your calendars, it's natural they got doubled. Learn more here: http://www.codetwo.com/outlook-sync/userguide/installation.htm

CodeTwo Tech support will also be very happy to help you out. These guys are quick!
