configuration of a mailbox

Postby thegreatgiginthesky » Fri Apr 30, 2010 12:25 pm

Hey there, you know I'm not so wise in IT, and I want to configure Outlook for my mailbox? I cannot find its settings, and Outlook cannot autoconfigure it by itself...

This is the type of info you can find through google. Anyway, here is data you should type in Outlook for your yahoo e-mail account
SSL POP server (995): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
SSL SMTP server (465): smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Give some feedback if it works

Yahoo offers two types of accounts: free and business. It's important for MS Outlook, because the free account can't be configured under MS Outlook. There is a program Ypops that allows configuring free accounts under MS Outlook, but as far as I know it's been blocked by Yahoo already.
Anyway, free accounts can't be configures in Outlook.

Bad news. My account is free. According to what you wrote I won't be able to configure it, right? Maybe there's another software that can helps here, since Ypops was blocked. I'll google something and let you know.
